Buses and bus stations accept payment in cash (euros) and the most common bank and credit cards, Visa, Master Card and Euro Card. However, buses do not currently accept Visa Electro
Bus stations sell different types of tickets that can be loaded onto a travel card which can be used as a means of payment. These tickets are useful if you travel repeatedly within a longer period of time.
Further information about different travel cards is available on the Matkahuolto website at http://www.matkahuolto.fi/en/travel_services/ticket_products/
The Bus Pass is a ticket product loaded onto a Matkahuolto travel card and specifically designed for holiday travel. It can be used for unlimited travel on all bus routes throughout Finland (except for local transport in the Helsinki area and Turku). Bus Passes are available throughout the year.
A Bus Pass is valid either for seven days (€149) or for 14 days (€249). As the Bus Pass is activated at the moment it is loaded onto the card, its precise period of validity is the day of purchase plus the following 7 or 14 days. The price includes the €6.50 charge for the card. Although it cannot be recharged on buses, a Bus Pass can be reloaded at Matkahuolto service outlets.
A Bus Pass is personal to the holder. Only one person can travel on an individual Bus Pass.
